Recently, the family of an Irish girl, who went missing last year and was found dead soon later, have thought that the investigation was not properly done thoroughly enough and have asked the authorities in Kuala Lumpur to conduct a an inquest to the death of their daughter. It is said that Nora Anne Quoirin, the 15 year old Irish girl, has suffered from learning difficulties and went missing in early August a day after her family arrived on holiday from a rain forest resort in Seremban. They found her naked body near a jungle stream in a deep ravine near the Dusan Resort, the place her family was staying, 10 days later.
The Malaysian police found no signs pointing to foul play so they had ruled out abduction as a motive. Officials have said that Nora Anne died from an internal bleeding, probably due to prolonged hunger and stress and she had suffered intestinal damage and most likely died 2-3 days before she was found. Though the officials have made their statement, Nora Anne’s family feared a criminal connection to the disappearance, saying that she had special needs but never left them voluntarily.
There are many possible conclusions to this investigation but no one has found the truth yet. The first possible conclusion is that someone might have broken in since they have found the window latch to have been broken and someone could have taken her out which leads us to my next possible conclusion. Since the window latch was found to have been broken, she also could have easily opened the window and climb out in search of something outside or just wandering around the resort. Another possible conclusion is that the parents could have abused her which might have caused her learning difficulties and which might have caused her to make the decision of running away. There is no complete conclusion yet but these are some examples of the possibilities which could have occured.
